Events & coaching

Ever noticed how much smarter you get when you’re talking to another person? I have. As someone who works alone, I have also noticed the energy boost when I engage with other people — whether it’s around their concerns, or mine. It’s hard to dispute: humans are tribal, and we thrive in community. Learning in groups calls on our human lineage of solving problems together.

Many small business owners do most of their work alone. Is it your best work? Consider the benefits of regular ongoing contact with another supportive intelligence. Marketing coaching – whether individual or in a small group – provides new ideas and accountability while meeting your needs for face-to-face connection around business. It can be downright supportive!

I recommend Selling the Invisible to my clients more often than any other marketing book. Harry Beckwith knows about marketing professional services from the inside, and he studies people and what makes them tick. His insights into why they behave the way they do in business have been invaluable to me. His writing is clear and easy to read — each idea is given its own chapter of 2 or 3 pages. I recommend his other books too.

Ford Harding, a consultant himself, studied how professionals brought business into their companies. He discovered that all personality types can succeed in business development. Good reading, no cheese.

I loved this book by Tim Sanders about how to build powerful relationships.
